VoxNeuro created a presentation in sponsorship of Brain Injury Canada titled “Identifying the Effects of COVID-19 on Cognitive Function and Recovery Trajectories”

The presentation was shared with Brain Injury Canada’s network, and presented live to the Neurological Health Charities of Canada. Watch the webinar on Brain Injury Canada’s YouTube channel.

Abstract: The novel SARS-CoV-2 disease (COVID 19) has taken the world by storm with nearly 50 million people affected worldwide; ~250,000 of which are Canadians. Current COVID 19 research has clearly identified both acute and chronic neurological effects associated with the disease such as stroke, encephalitis, and long-lasting cognitive impairment. This presentation provides an overview of the epidemiological impact of COVID 19, an in-depth look into the neurological manifestations associated with the disease, as well as options for patients suffering from these neurological consequences, and the clinicians treating them.

With the evolving news and government mandated closures taking place as a result of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), this brief update is to inform you of regularly updated resources and how VoxNeuro is responding.

It is imperative we all do what we can to stay informed and follow both recommended and mandated health and safety measures to do our part to help flatten the epidemic curve of COVID-19.

Most importantly, it is vital to adopt the mindset that although you may not be experiencing symptoms, it does not mean that you are not a carrier for the virus. We encourage avoiding contact with any individuals who are at higher risk, including those affected by auto-immune disorders, individuals with chronic medical conditions (such as heart disease, kidney disease, lung disease and diabetes), and individuals above the age of 50
